THE BASICS
What is Bhavatit Dhyan?
Bhavatit Dhyan is an effortless, daily meditation practice in which you use a mantra (that I assign to you) to transcend the level of thought in order to experience the field of being. In other words, by practicing Bhavatit Dhyan, you easily press the factory reset button to get away from the daily mental chatter and experience deeper levels of calm that can be easily accessed from within you. It’s practiced for twenty minutes, twice a day, and is designed to easily fit into your daily life.
How is it different from other meditation practices?
Can you think? Can you sit with your back supported and your head free? Then that’s all you need!
There are meditation techniques that are designed for monks, and then there is Bhavatit Dhyan, which is practiced by those of us who live in the world and have jobs and relationships. Sitting in an uncomfortable pretzel position for hours? Going on a 10-day silent retreat where you can’t talk or look another person in the eye? Those practices are not easy to sustain in our daily lives because they’re actually designed for monks, whereas with Bhavatit Dhyan, all you need is twenty minutes, twice a day.
Many other forms of meditation require you to continue to subscribe to an app, rely on a teacher’s calming voice, or pay to drop into a class in order to practice. With your one-time course fee to learn Bhavatit Dhyan, you will advance-fund a lifetime support and follow-up with the option to refresh your learning by sitting in on the 4-day course and dive deeper into the knowledge at any time.
Bhavatit Dhyan originates from the Himalayas of northern India and is from the Vedas, a vast body of universal knowledge that scholars date back to approximately 8,000 BC. This knowledge is not owned by any one religion or group of people, and was passed down through ancient yogic masters, from teacher to teacher throughout millenia. How did this ancient body of knowledge come about? Basically, a bunch of Himalayan yogis meditated so much so that they figured out how this whole life and universe thing works.
To the masters of this lineage, passing down the teachings according to the purity of the tradition is of primary importance. This means that all who learn Bhavatit Dhyan learn it in the same way that they would have thousands of years ago in the Himalayas — including you!
A lifetime of peace and bliss is available for you to experience with this practice that has been time-tested throughout millenia.
THE BENEFITS
What are the benefits of
practicing Bhavatit Dhyan?
Promotes Deep Rest
The rest that you get while practicing this form of meditation is two to five times deeper than the deepest rest that you get during sleep. It’s estimated that 20 minutes of practicing Bhavatit Dhyan is equivalent to getting 4 hours of sleep.
Dissolves Stress
Reverses Aging
A study showed that those who have been practicing this technique for 5 years or more had a biological age* that was on average 12 years younger than those who did not meditate.
*not your chronological age as defined by the number of birthdays that you’ve had, but rather the age of your body
Raises EQ
Increases Brain Function
Naturally Induces Happiness
This practice shuts off the part of your brain that produces stress chemistry (like cortisol and adrenaline) and lights up the part of your brain that produces bliss chemistry (like dopamine, anandamide, and serotonin). Since benefits are cumulative, there’s no wonder why long-time meditators are always blissful for seemingly no reason — they’ve trained their minds to manufacture bliss chemistry every day for years!

FAQS
Bhavatit Dhyan falls under the mantra-based, “transcending” technique of meditation. The term “transcend” refers to the experience of the mind naturally settling down to deeper states of awareness. Other forms of meditation typically involve the use of the mind: concentration, contemplation, and visualization. With BD, you don’t have to use your mind to quiet your mind. With correct practice, you will naturally experience that state of calm from within.
This technique and its teachings are derived from cognitive science as well as a 5,000+ year old vast body of universal knowledge from India known as the Veda. Throughout millenia, people have studied the Vedas to learn about the laws of nature, all of creation’s relationship with the natural world, and the nature of consciousness. It is from this body of knowledge that yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, and many other disciplines are derived.
In Sanskrit ‘man’ means mind and ‘tra’ is the root word for transit. In other words, a mantra is a mind vehicle. It takes you from Point A to Point B — from the field of thought to the field of being. It’s a primordial sound, a vibration, which is naturally occurring in nature and has no intended meaning. Because it is a vibration, using the mantra draws your mind inward to naturally experience its deeper, more restful states. The mantra selected for you will create the most effortless meditation experience. The mantra, along with the correct use of it, will set you up for a deeper experience so that you can advance your practice over time.
While learning online or with an app can be a good starting point, there really is no replacing an in-person, face-to-face interaction with a teacher who will be able to address the many complexities and paradoxes of the mind, as well as how to navigate it in the context of your own experiences. One of the main reasons why earnest beginners do not stick with a meditation practice is because they do not have the foundational knowledge of what meditation does to the mind and the support to confirm and validate their meditation experiences. In being trained to understand the nuances of this technique and how it affects the mind and body, this will save you years of doubt and misunderstanding. A true teacher will teach you techniques to awaken your full potential without you having to become dependent on them so that you are fully empowered and self-sufficient in your personal evolution.
Absolutely! The 4-day course is designed to equip those with no (or some) meditation experience with all that they need to be a confident, daily meditator for the rest of their lives.
Yes! The beauty of this technique is that it is not about controlling your mind or body, or emptying your mind of thoughts. Thoughts are welcomed with this technique and is a sign of correct practice.
There are many who dabble in meditation without being given a proper technique, or being informed of the knowledge of where the practice comes from and how it is affecting their mind, bodies, and well-being as they continue in their practice. One of the benefits of having a teacher to personally support you in your practice is that they can clarify what’s going on in the mind and body when you meditate. The teacher can explain the subtle, yet cumulative benefits that you are experiencing that may seem imperceptible in that moment. You will also rest easy in knowing that you are practicing correctly with refinement adjustments throughout the 4-day course, along with the lifetime of support available to you.
The time investment to practice Bhavatit Dhyan is 20 minutes, twice a day. The average adult spends about 53 minutes on Instagram each day. Considering that practicing Bhavatit Dhyan positively impacts all areas of your life — your mind, emotions, relationships, well-being — spending that 40 minutes to meditate is a small time investment that turns out to be a better time barter that will reap cumulative benefits for the rest of your life.
Having thoughts is a part of the process, so there is no need to still or focus the mind on any one thing. Focusing or quieting the mind has its merits in mind-directed techniques, but not so with Bhavatit Dhyan. Over the 4-day course, you will learn what happens to the mind when you meditate and gain a greater understanding of what meditation is. As you continue to meditate, you will likely gain a greater capacity to focus as you dissolve stress and settle the over-activity of your nervous system. This means more calmness and clarity with a greater ability to focus in your day-to-day life.
People from all walks of life have learned and benefitted from the practice of Bhavatit Dhyan. However, if you feel that you haven’t felt benefits, you can rely on me to provide you with continued training and guidance until you feel confident as a fully self-sufficient daily meditator.
You will begin to feel the benefits, if not in your first meditation, then within your first few meditations. Some may notice a difference in the quality of their thinking and decision-making while others may notice more relaxation in their bodies. You may also notice that you are able to sleep better. It will vary depending on the person, but the benefits will continue to expand cumulatively as you continue your daily practice. With each meditation, you are dissolving years of accumulated stress, so what you experience as a result of meditation is the opposite of having a storehouse of stress in the body — benefits that unfold uniquely according to your personal experiences.
The transcending meditation technique is one of the most studied forms of meditation, and hundreds of studies have been conducted on how this practice affects our minds, bodies, and well-being. The studies range from testing whether practicing this technique reduces stress and anxiety, decreases depression, reduces insomnia, reduces cardiovascular risk factors, improves intelligence and creativity, and more. Since there are so many studies across many factors, if you are interested in diving deeper, feel free to contact me and I’d be happy to provide you with the references.
Not at all! Since it’s a simple, natural, and effortless technique, you will pick it up on day one. By the end of the 4-day course, you will have all that you need to meditate on your own for the rest of your life.
No. Bhavatit Dhyan is a simple and natural mechanical technique that is free of any dogma or belief. All that is required is that you follow a few simple steps to ensure correct and effortless practice. People from all backgrounds and faiths practice BD because it does not require you to adopt any beliefs or change your lifestyle in any way.
You can certainly expect to experience shifts as you continue your daily practice. Since the average adult has a large storehouse of stress in their bodies, this stress distorts and limits the full spectrum of who we are and what we are capable of. By meditating, you dissolve that stress and begin to notice a decrease in the negative aspects of yourself and enhance the positive qualities that are innate within you.
With your course fee, you will advance-fund a lifetime of support and follow-up. This includes access to me if you want to check in or have any questions, a 6-month weekly email series with tips, reminders, and resources, the option to re-take the course for as many times as you’d like, as well as attend group meditations and receive invites to special events and retreats.
